Please follow the care instructions completely to obtain good healing of your piercing. Healing times may vary depending on many factors, including but not limited to, individual person and type of body piercing. Healing will be adversely affected if these after care instructions are not adhered to.
Basic Cleansing Schedule for your piercing: 2 times a day, once in the morning, and once in the evening, until healed.
Basic Cleansing Procedure:
Wash your hands thoroughly with an antibacterial hand soap (i.e. Dial, Lever 2000, Techni-Care) before touching or caring for your piercing. DO NOT use products with cold cream or perfumed fragrances. Use warm water only to clean away all matter secreted and dried around the opening. This will also soften the skin prior to cleansing. Use antibacterial soap to soap up the piercing and jewelry, then leave the soap on the skin for a moment before rinsing. Using warm water again, rinse the piercing and jewelry thoroughly to remove all soap. next use a clean towel to blot dry, DO NOT rub piercing. Apply a small amount of Bacitracin ointment on each side of the opening to get the ointment into piecing. This is how you will leave the piercing set until your next cleansing procedure. Please follow these simple guidelines until your new piercing is completely healed.
Cleansing procedure for tongues & Labret piercings:
Apply ice as often as possible the first 4 days to help keep swelling to a minimum. Brush your teeth at least twice daily, (Morning and Evening).
Rinse your mouth with antiseptic full strength mouthwash after eating, drinking (other than water), smoking/chewing tobacco for the first week.
Check the Screw-on balls on your jewelry daily to make sure they are tight.
FOR LABRET PIERCINGS:
Follow the BASIC CLEANSING PROCEDURE FOR THE EXTERIOR PORTION OF THE LABRET PIERCING and the TONGUE CLEANSING PROCEDURE for the interior portion of your piercing.
SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE ANY SIGNS OF INFECTION. YOUR DOCTOR MAY PRESCRIBE AN ANTIBIOTIC, DO NOT REMOVE JEWELRY, as it is a means for infection to drain.
